One of our leaders at the West Papuan Human Rights Center, Sister Charity Tititulu (Left), met with the senior US senator from Vermont, Sen. Bernie Sanders. Sis. Titiulu has been instrumental in our effort to inform the US congress about the ongoing gross human rights violations in the Melanesian land of West Papua, and she continues to speak on our behalf wherever she is.

Sen. Sanders has been a fighter for the little guy since becoming a senator and a presidential candidate in the last two Democratic primaries. According to his website, Sen. Sanders has been working tirelessly to bring to attention issues facing minorities in America. We appreciate this gesture and we are looking forward to meeting him someday to discuss ways to get to the attention of congress on the issue of West Papua.
