Our Logo is composed of the Victoria Crowned Pigeon (Left), and the Bird of Paradise (right). The Victoria Crown Pigeon represents the West Papuan indigenous men, while the Bird of Paradise symbolizes our beautiful women. These beautiful birds, as with our people, are threatened with extinction from the land of Melanesia. Our people are threated; their culture, race and people are being threatened by an ever aggressive occupying force, the Indonesian military and police.
The canoe
In the center of the Logo is a figure which symbolizes the canoe, which our CEO used to escape West Papua in 2006. After years of persecution and imprisonment for protesting against the occupation, and the abuse his people have been through for years, Mr. Wainggai escaped to Australia. This canoe has a lot of meaning to the Center and its goals.
